Guide to the Elections

by alex

I thought I’d share this great little concise guide to the elections I got from IBON the other day with you guys.

If you’re like me, Philippine politics can be a little daunting and confusing a topic.  I know I’m not the only one a little curious about it.

What’s up with the automated elections being introduced this year?  Who are the presidential candidates and what are they all about? What are they saying they’ll do to combat corruption, uphold human rights, protect the environment, regarding agrarian reform, create jobs and improve industrialization, etc?

Check out the gallery below for some pics I took of the guide or CLICK HERE for a better quality PDF.

Check out the IBON site too for more info/stats on the current situation in the Philippines today. They’re a great resource, if you don’t know them here’s how they describe themselves: “IBON is a research-education-information development institution. IBON undertakes the study of socio-economic issues that confront Philippine society and the world today. It explores alternatives and promotes a new understanding of socio-economic issues that best serve the interests and aspirations of the Filipino people.”
